Pork Patties with Peas and Carrots

A classic and flavorful Danish dish, where juicy pork patties are coated in egg and breadcrumbs and fried golden in a pan. The patties are served with a delicious, creamy sauce containing small cubes of carrots and sweet, frozen peas, adding both color and taste.

Pork Patties with Peas and Carrots

Ingredients

  • Pork Patties
  • 400 g ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Sauce
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 ½ tbsp flour
  • ½ vegetable bouillon cube
  • 250 ml water
  • 350 g carrots
  • 350 g frozen peas
  • 1 large handful of fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp coarse salt
  • Side Dish
  • 1 kg potatoes

Instructions

  1. Pork Patties
  2. Crack the egg into a deep plate and mix breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper in another deep plate
  3. Stir the meat and shape into four flat patties
  4. First dip the patties in the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs
  5. Fry the patties in plenty of butter over medium heat for about 5 minutes on each side
  6. Sauce
  7. Chop the carrots into small cubes
  8. Heat the flour and milk
  9. Add water and the bouillon cube, stirring until the cube is dissolved
  10. Add butter and bring to a boil while stirring
  11. Add chopped carrots and frozen peas and stir
  12. Let the sauce simmer until it thickens, then stir in salt and chopped parsley
  13. Side Dish
  14. Peel the potatoes and boil them in plenty of water with 3 tsp coarse salt for about 20 minutes until tender
  15. Serve the dish topped with fresh parsley
