Meatballs in Curry

An easy and delicious everyday classic with ready-made meatballs, creamy curry sauce, and a hint of apple. Served with rice and optionally topped with mango chutney, peanuts, or raisins for extra flavor and comfort.

Ingredients

  • 500 g meatballs
  • 3 tsp curry powder
  • 2 onions
  • 20 g butter
  • 2 ½ tbsp flour
  • ½ liter broth
  • 1 apple
  • Salt
  • 400 ml rice

Instructions

  1. Sauté curry powder and onions in butter in a large pot
  2. Stir in flour when the onions are translucent
  3. Add broth and whisk the sauce
  4. Chop the apple into cubes and add to the sauce
  5. Season the sauce with salt, add the meatballs, and bring to a brief boil
  6. Let it simmer for 10 - 15 minutes
  7. Cook rice for 10 - 12 minutes
  8. Serve meatballs in curry over the rice with, for example, peanuts, raisins, and mango chutney
