Cinnamon Cake

A classic and moist cinnamon cake with a delightful butter and coffee glaze on top. The cake is easy to make, smells amazing of cinnamon, and stays fresh for several days.

Cinnamon Cake

Ingredients

  • Batter
  • 120 g butter
  • 400 g sugar
  • 400 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 5 tsp cinnamon
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • Glaze
  • 50 g butter
  • 300 g powdered sugar
  • 100 ml brewed coffee
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla sugar

Instructions

  1. Batter
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy
  3. Fold the dry ingredients into the batter and stir
  4. Whisk in the buttermilk
  5. Spread the batter in a baking pan approximately 25 x 30 cm and bake the cake at 200°C conventional oven for 35 - 40 minutes
  6. Let the cake cool completely
  7. Glaze
  8. Melt the butter and stir in the remaining ingredients until smooth, then spread it over the cooled cake
